Frequently Asked Questions

For best waxing results please consider the length of your hair to be 1/4th of an inch. This will help ensure that your hair is long enough to attach to the wax.

The trick to getting a smooth wax is to exfoliate the night before and continue to exfoliate as part of your everyday routine. A great product to purchase is a dry brush that will improve circulation, curtail ingrown hair and “strawberry legs.”

At Wax Off Studio, we use the highest natural quality hard wax and natural soft wax. The difference between the two rests in the ingredients of the waxes, the area of usage and the melting point temperature of the waxes.

At Wax Off Studio we use hard wax for sensitive areas such as bikini, eyebrows, underarm, and full face as it adheres to the hair rather than the skin and for non-sensitive areas such as full legs, full back, full arms, full stomach we use soft wax.

There are thousands of hairs growing on your body at different stages within the hair cycle. Therefore, during your first wax, we are removing hairs that are either within the Catagen or Telogen phase. Remember there are hairs that are in the early Anagen phase that will “pop up” in the period between your waxes.

It is recommended that you do not shave these hairs between your waxes routine. You should allow your hair to grow that was not waxed during your first appointment.

It takes 3-4 wax treatments to have your hair growing within the same phases. After which,  you will notice that the prickliness will go away.

As well, should you be going to untrained waxlogists, the technique that is being administored may be such that the technican is breaking the hair, rather than removing the hair at the root. It is important to go to licsenced and trained estheticans for your waxing service.
